Inland Metal Industries Announces Implementation of the
Supplier Excellence Alliance Lean Enterprise System
Irvine, California -July 31, 2007 - Inland Metal Industries (IMI), located in Hayward, California has begun
implementation of the Supplier Excellence Alliance (SEA), Lean Enterprise System.
The Lean Enterprise System (LES) is the continuous improvement system developed by aerospace,
defense, and space suppliers, along with prime and tier-one contractors. The LES helps suppliers build
new capabilities that will enable them to better support the emerging needs of their customers. The LES
also helps establish a culture where lean production principles and standard work are applied throughout
the organization to ensure sustained improvements in delivery and quality, while reducing lead times and
cost.
Inland Metal Industries, (IMI), is a precision sheet metal, machining and assembly corporation, founded
and owned by the same family since 1964. IMI is a modern 92,000 square foot facility, running 3 shifts
with over 150 people. IMI’s core competency is the design, engineering and manufacturing of precision
